Call for papers
La religione civile

Il numero 1/2023 dell’«Archivio di filosofia» è dedicato al tema della religione civile dalla prospettiva storico-filosofica. Lo scopo del numero è quello di discutere la teoria (già presente negli autori antichi e poi ripresa in età moderna) che designa la necessità di un’adesione di tipo religioso alla politica. Si tratta di discutere questo tema declinandolo in due accezioni: da un lato, la necessità della religione come vincolo indispensabile per mantenere una società pacifica e per rafforzare l’etica pubblica (ossia l’uso politico della religione), dall’altro, la sacralizzazione delle forme e delle istituzioni della politica (ossia la santificazione della politica).
La call for papers è dedicata a contributi che discutano questi temi con particolare riferimento ad autori o correnti filosofiche dell’Ottocento e del Novecento che hanno affrontato la questione a partire dall’Idealismo tedesco fino al dibattito contemporaneo. Ogni contributo – che potrà essere redatto in italiano, inglese, francese e tedesco e che sarà regolarmente valutato tramite double-blind peer review – non deve superare i 40.000 caratteri (spazi inclusi) e dovrà pervenire entro e non oltre il 10 aprile 2023.

«Archives of Philosophy» 1/2023 is devoted to the topic of civil religion from the historical- philosophical perspective. The aim of the issue is to discuss the theory (already present in the ancient authors and then resumed in the Modern Age) that marks the necessity of a religious adhesion to politics. The aim is to discuss this topic by declining it in two meanings: on the one hand, the necessity of religion as an indispensable bond to maintain a peaceful society and to strengthen public ethics (i.e. the political use of religion); on the other hand, the sacralization of the forms and institutions of politics (i.e. the sanctification of politics).
The call for papers is dedicated to contributions that discuss these issues with particular reference to authors or philosophical currents of the Nineteenth and the Twentieth century that have addressed the matter from German Idealism to the contemporary debate. Each contribution – which can be written in Italian, English, French and German and will be regularly evaluated through double-blind peer review – must not exceed 40,000 characters (including spaces) and must be received no later than April 10th 2023.
